Section 45-40-90 Creation; composition; promulgation of rules; funding. (a) There is created the Lawrence County Community Development Commission which shall be authorized to receive and by majority vote to distribute any funds in the Community Development Fund created herein for the purposes of promoting economic development including, but not limited to, water and sewer needs and paying the principal and interest on bonds issued for economic development, education, recreation, conservation, fire protection, and disaster relief. Not less than 40 percent of all funds distributed from the Community Development Fund shall be earmarked and expended for capital improvements. Section 45-8-150.03 Bingo games - Permits; ordinances. (a) No qualified organization shall be permitted to operate a bingo game unless the county governing body, or the governing bodies of the respective cities and towns, within their respective jurisdictions, issues a permit to the organization authorizing it to do so. The permit required by this article is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other business license which may be required by law, and no bingo game shall be operated until all required licenses have been obtained.
