Section 11-31-2 Board of directors - Creation; composition. When any radio/alert notification
communications district is created, the creating authority may appoint a board of directors
comprised of a minimum of eight members to govern its affairs and fix the domicile of the
board. The board members appointed shall be from the disciplines represented by the users
of the system. The board may fix its domicile at any point within the district. In the case
of a multi-county radio/alert notification communications district, the governing body of
each participating county shall have four appointments to the board. The members of the board
shall be qualified electors of their respective county, two of whom, one from each county,
shall be appointed for terms of two years; four members, two from each county, for terms of
three years; and two members, one from each county, for terms of four years. Initial terms

Section 16-3-3 Qualifications of members. The members of the board shall be qualified electors
of the State of Alabama, and each member shall be a qualified elector in the district which
he represents. No person who is an employee of the board or who is or has been engaged as
a professional educator within five years next preceding the date of the election shall be
eligible for membership on the board. For the purposes of this section the term "professional

Section 16-9-5 Nomination by political party. Any political party may, in a county where the
county superintendent is elected by a direct vote of the qualified electors, either nominate
a candidate for such office or may certify to the probate judge that said political party
desires to leave the election of a county superintendent of education to the county board
of education. Whenever any political party certifies that such political party desires to
leave the selection of such officer to the county board of education, the probate judge shall
cause to be entered on the ballot where the names of such candidates (if nominated) would

Section 45-48-70.03 Associate commissioners. The associate members of the Commission on Government
and Finance of Marshall County shall serve as associate commissioners of the Marshall County
Commission and shall hold office until the first Monday after the second Tuesday in January,
