Section 10A-8A-9.05 Effect of conversion. (a) Documents and evidence provided pursuant to Section 27-12A-21 or obtained by the department in an investigation of suspected or actual insurance fraud shall be privileged and confidential, shall not be a public record, and shall not be subject to discovery or subpoena in a civil or criminal action. (a) Each district attorney may establish a special services division which shall be under the direction and control of the district attorney, and shall be organized for the following uses and purposes: (1) A section of the special services division of each district attorney's office may be organized as a worthless check unit.
