Section 45-8-110 Additional compensation. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, in Calhoun County, each member of the board of registrars shall receive additional compensation in the amount of fifteen dollars ($15) per day for each day's attendance upon business of the board, on days the board is authorized to meet and conduct business, to be paid by the county commission out of the general fund of the county treasury. Such amount shall be in addition to any and all other amounts provided for by law. (b) If implementation of the compensation in this section increases the compensation of an incumbent office holder and is prohibited by the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, or otherwise by law, the increase shall be paid as an expense allowance until the beginning of the next term of office whereupon the amount of the expense allowance shall be included in the compensation for the office holder and the expense allowance shall be voided.
