Section 45-5-60.02 Additional expense allowance; health care benefits; cost-of-living increases. (a) Commencing on May 16, 2008, the Coroner of Blount County shall be entitled to an additional expense allowance in an amount equal to the employer portion of all health care benefits provided to any other elected official of Blount County to be paid in equal monthly installments out of the county general fund. The expense allowance shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law. (b) Beginning the next term of office for coroner, the expense allowance authorized in subsection (a) is repealed and, subject to approval of the Blount County Commission prior to the beginning of each term of office, the coroner may receive the same health care benefits provided any other elected official of Blount County.
