Section 45-17A-82.02 Applicability; implementing rules and regulations; job descriptions; regular status; reduction in salary or compensation. (a) All covered employees of the City of Tuscumbia shall be subject to this part and the rules and regulations prescribed in or promulgated pursuant to this part. (b) All implementing rules and regulations shall be approved by the city council, based upon applicable state and federal laws, and shall provide rules for examination and appointment of new employees, reassignment of current employees, separations, disciplinary actions to include suspensions, demotions, and dismissals, layoffs, leaves of absence with pay, leaves of absence without pay, and all other matters determined by the city council to be required to effectively implement the intent of this part. (a) The personnel board may adopt, establish, and maintain a deferred compensation plan or plans, except under Internal Revenue Code Section 403 (b), for the employees of the State of Alabama or any city, town, county, or public entity or corporation organized pursuant to the laws of this state.
