Section 45-37-82.20 Deputy district attorneys - Appointment; compensation. (a) In the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, Birmingham Division, the district attorney of the circuit may appoint 43 deputy district attorneys. The deputy district attorneys appointed pursuant to this section shall be qualified to practice law in the courts of this state and shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing district attorney. The deputy district attorneys shall be state officers and shall perform the duties in the circuit as the district attorney may require.
