Section 45-49-101.01 Definitions. The following definitions and provisions shall apply to this part: (1) BOARD. A county or city board of education, or the governing body of a school system located in Mobile County. (2) COURT. A district court located in Mobile County if a school bus violation occurs in an unincorporated area, or a municipal court located in Mobile County if a violation occurs in an incorporated municipality. (3) ELECTRONIC DEVICE. Any camera or recording device that uses a vehicle sensor and camera synchronized to automatically record by video, photograph, or full motion streaming video, a motor vehicle approaching or overtaking a school bus that is stopped for the purpose of receiving or discharging school children in violation of Section 32-5A-154. (4) LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. Section 45-49-221.01 Exemption of certain metal structures from inspection requirements and building codes. (a) In the unincorporated areas of Mobile County, a metal structure or metal shed which is used for a hunting camp, hunting club, or hunting lodge shall be exempt from the inspection requirements of county ordinances and the county building code relating to plumbing, electricity, and other utilities. The term county building code as used in this subsection shall mean the state building code as permissively adopted by Mobile County under Section 41-9-166. Section 45-49-101.03 Adoption of electronic school bus enforcement program fines. (a) A county or city board of education located in Mobile County may approve the use of electronic devices to detect school bus violations by voting at a public meeting of the board to approve the adoption of an electronic school bus enforcement program. Section 45-49-101.04 Notice of violation; destruction of images and information. (a) After review of the violation by law enforcement, any county or municipal governing body or law enforcement office located in Mobile County operating an electronic device shall send the owner of a vehicle, that has been detected by the device as being involved in a school bus violation, a notice of violation by U.S. mail. If there is more than one owner, the notice may be issued to the first person listed on the title or other evidence of ownership, or jointly to all listed owners. Section 15-20A-11 Adult sex offender - Prohibited residence locations, etc. (a) No adult sex offender shall establish a residence or maintain a residence after release or conviction within 2,000 feet of the property on which any school, childcare facility, or resident camp facility is located unless otherwise exempted pursuant to Sections 15-20A-23 and 15-20A-24.
