to the subsection (c), and except as otherwise provided in subsection (b), the sale of alcoholic
beverages for on-premises and off-premises consumption on Sundays between the hours of 1:00
P.M. and midnight is authorized within Dale County by properly licensed retail licensees of
the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. (b) Any municipality in Dale County, by ordinance or
resolution of the municipal governing body, may opt out of subsection (a). (c) The Judge of
Probate of Dale County shall hold a referendum at the general election in November 2018 to
determine if alcoholic beverages for on-premises and off-premises consumption may be sold

Section 11-42-2 Annexation election and proceedings generally; proceedings where parties consent
to annexation. Whenever the council shall pass a resolution to the effect that the public
health or public good requires that certain territory (described in the resolution) shall
be brought within the limits of the city or town: (1) It shall be the duty of the mayor to
certify a copy of such resolution to the judge of probate of the county in which the land
proposed to be annexed is situated, and said certified resolution shall have attached thereto

Section 45-48-101.22 Boundaries of districts. (a) Following the release of any federal decennial
census, the board, by majority vote, may change the boundaries of the districts in order to
create single-member districts that comply with the one-person, one-vote requirement of the
United States Constitution and may provide that members be elected from single-member districts,
reside within those districts, and be elected by majority vote of the electors voting in the
district. Any revised district arrangement to be used, in whole or in part, shall be approved
by the board not less than 180 days before the election in which the revised districts shall
first be used. (b) No change to the boundaries of existing districts shall be adopted by the
board unless the board first shall have advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in

Section 45-49-22 Election on Sunday sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages. The Mobile
County Commission is hereby mandated to call and provide for holding an election among the
voters of Mobile County to determine whether or not alcoholic beverages, as defined in Section
28-3-1, may be legally sold and distributed on Sundays after 12 o'clock noon by properly licensed
retailers serving the general public. The initial election mandated by this subpart shall
be held at the same time as the first statewide election scheduled to be held following July

Section 45-2-261.07 Procedure for exercising jurisdiction in each district. The Baldwin County
Commission shall not exercise its planning and zoning powers and jurisdiction in any district
established hereunder until the majority of the qualified electors of the district voting
in an election shall have voted their desire to come within the planning and zoning authority
of the Baldwin County Commission. The election shall be held if 10 percent of the qualified
electors in any district submit a written petition to the county commission expressing a desire
to be subject to the planning and zoning jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Commission under

In the event that the governing body of any Class 8 municipality, which has adopted an ordinance
pursuant to Section 11-44F-22, shall later determine that it would be in the best interests
