Section 16-44B-1 Compact. ARTICLE I PURPOSE It is the purpose of this compact to remove
barriers to education success imposed on children of military families because of frequent
moves and deployment of their parents by: A. Facilitating the timely enrollment of children
of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty
in the transfer of education records from the previous school district(s) or variations in
entrance/age requirements. B. Facilitating the student placement process through which children
of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling,
sequencing, grading, course content or assessment. C. Facilitating the qualification and eligibility
for enrollment, educational programs, and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic,
and social activities. D. Facilitating the on-time graduation of children of military families.

Section 16-22A-3 Definitions. When used in this chapter only, the following terms shall
have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) APPLICANT. A certified or noncertified individual who submits an application for employment
to a local employing board or any nonpublic school, to act in any capacity in which the individual
will have unsupervised access to children in an educational environment. (2) APPLICANT FOR
CERTIFICATION. An individual who submits an application for certification issued by the State
Superintendent of Education. (3) AUTHORIZED EMPLOYER. Any educational entity authorized to
obtain criminal history background information, including the State Department of Education,
local employing boards, and nonpublic schools which are responsible for hiring employees or

Section 32-8-2 Definitions. For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall
have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except where the context
clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) CURRENT ADDRESS. A new address different from the

Section 6-5-155.1 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this division
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates

Section 11-47-210 Definitions. When used in this article, unless the context plainly
indicates otherwise, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively
ascribed to them by this section: (1) APPLICANT. An individual who files a written
application with the governing body of any county or municipality in accordance with Section
11-47-214. (2) AUTHORITY. A public corporation organized under this article for the purposes,

Section 24-4A-3 Powers and duties of commission generally; insignia of approval; modification
of units prior to or during installation; authority of local government agencies; fee schedule;
manufactured buildings approved by other states. (a) The commission is authorized to promulgate

Section 28-3A-23 Regulation of grant of licenses. (a) No license prescribed in this
code shall be issued or renewed until the provisions of this code have been complied with
and the filing and license fees other than those levied by a municipality are paid to the
board. (b) Licenses shall be granted and issued by the board only to reputable individuals,
to associations whose members are reputable individuals, or to reputable corporations organized

shall execute a compact, in substantially the following form, with the State of Mississippi,
