Section 45-46-231 Pistol permit fee. (a) In Marengo County the fee for issuance of a permit
to carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the person as provided in Section
13A-11-75, shall be twenty dollars ($20). (b) Any and all monies collected under subsection
(a) shall be deposited by the Sheriff of Marengo County in any bank located in Marengo County
selected by the sheriff into a fund known as the Sheriff's Fund. (c) The Sheriff's Fund as
provided in subsection (b) shall be drawn upon by the Sheriff of Marengo County or his or
her appointed agent and shall be used for the betterment of law enforcement, in the public's
interest, as the sheriff sees fit. (d) The Sheriff's Fund shall in no way diminish or take
the place of any other imbursement or other source of income established for the sheriff or

Section 45-48-242 Additional tax on wholesale price of spirituous or vinous liquors. In Marshall
County, in addition to all other taxes of every kind now imposed by law, there is hereby levied
and shall be collected a county tax at the rate of five percent upon the wholesale price of
all spirituous or vinous liquors sold by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to any retailer
of spirituous or vinous liquors or beverages containing such liquors. The county tax herein
levied shall be collected by the board from the wholesale purchaser at the time the wholesale
purchase price is paid. The proceeds of revenues collected under this section, less costs
of administration, shall be paid into the General Fund of Marshall County and shall be distributed

Section 15-20A-37 Failure to register; absconding. (a) When a sex offender declares, and the
county is notified that a sex offender intends to reside, maintain employment or a volunteer
position, or attend school in the county and the sex offender fails to appear for registration,
the county that received the notice shall immediately inform the sheriff of the county that
provided the notice that the sex offender failed to appear for registration. (b) When a sex
offender fails to register or cannot be located, an effort shall immediately be made by the
sheriff in the county in which the sex offender failed to register or is unable to be located

Section 36-22-62 Amount of benefits. (a) Those persons eligible under either subdivisions (1)
or (2) of Section 36-22-60, who have 16 years of creditable service as a law enforcement officer,
12 of which were served as sheriff, shall be entitled to receive an amount equal to 50 percent
of the monthly salary paid such person at the time of the completion of his service in office,
and shall be entitled to receive an additional amount equal to two percent of such person's
