Section 25-13-3 Applicability. (a) Unless otherwise provided herein, this chapter covers the
design, construction, operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, alteration, and repair
of the following equipment, its associated parts, and its hoistways: (1) Hoisting and lowering
mechanisms equipped with a car or platform, which move between two or more landings. This
equipment includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Elevators. b. Platform lifts
and stairway chairlifts. (2) Power driven stairways and walkways for carrying persons between
landings. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Escalators. b.
Moving walks. (3) Hoisting and lowering mechanisms equipped with a car which serves two or
more landings and is restricted to the carrying of material by its limited size or limited

Section 11-97-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter, and others
evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of a clear implication
herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPLICANT.

Section 13A-11-61.3 Regulation of firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories. (a) The purpose
of this section is to establish within the Legislature complete control over regulation and
policy pertaining to firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories in order to ensure that
such regulation and policy is applied uniformly throughout this state to each person subject
to the state's jurisdiction and to ensure protection of the right to keep and bear arms recognized
by the Constitutions of the State of Alabama and the United States. This section is to be

Section 45-49-252.06 Collection of solid waste. (a)(1) Only county franchised collectors possessing
valid permits shall engage in the business of providing solid waste management services to
residential property within the county. Fees for such service shall be established by resolution
or ordinance of the Mobile County Commission, consistent with the provisions of franchise
agreements. Upon May 3, 1988, any proposed increase in fees charged shall be reviewed and
approved in the following manner: a. A franchised residential collector shall provide notice
in a newspaper of general circulation in Mobile County that the collector will apply in writing
to the solid waste management advisory board for an increase in fees charged, including the
amount of the proposed fee increase, at least three weeks prior to the giving of such written

Section 29-2-4 Reporting requirements; powers and duties. (a) On or before January 31 of each
year, any county or city required to report local motor fuel excise tax rate information to
the Department of Revenue pursuant to Act 1998-192 shall provide a similar report to the transportation
department regarding the total amount of local motor fuel excise tax revenues collected by
the county or city for the immediately preceding fiscal year and the total amount of the revenues

Section 11-31-3 Board of directors - Officers; meetings; powers; funding. (a)(1) The board
