Section 34-41-4 Board created; membership generally. (a) There is created the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Geologists which shall administer and enforce this chapter. (b) The board shall consist of seven members appointed by the Governor from a list of nominees submitted by the board, or any entity designated by the board. Members of the board, except for the initial board, shall be licensed professional geologists. Whenever possible the membership of the board shall be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state. (c) Each member of the board shall be a citizen of the United States, a resident of the State of Alabama for at least five years immediately preceding appointment, reside in the state during the term of office, and be at least 25 years of age. (b) A district for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval of the mandatory annual dues of the district.
