Section 45-13-70 Members to serve part-time; salary; centralized road system; work plan of county engineer and annual budget; clerical assistance; recordkeeping; inspection of roads and bridges. (a) Beginning with the term of office of any member of the county commission which commences on or after November 2000, the chair and each member of the county commission shall serve on a part-time basis and receive a salary as provided by Section 11-3-4.1, for serving on a part-time basis. (b) The Clarke County Commission shall establish a centrally located shop and centralized road system for the operation of the county roads and bridges. The county commission may vote to establish more than one shop location when the county engineer recommends any additional location is needed to facilitate the economical use of equipment and funds. Section 45-49-240.42 Supernumerary tax collectors. In Mobile County, all persons serving as supernumerary tax collectors as of April 30, 1986, shall receive a minimum annual salary payable in equal monthly installments from the county in the amount of seventeen thousand five hundred dollars ($17,500). The governing body of Marengo County shall immediately upon July 30, 1979, begin deducting from the salary of the sheriff an amount equal to six percent of the annual salary paid to the sheriff. Section 45-6-72 Creation; eligibility; salary. (a) There is hereby created in Bullock County the office of supernumerary county commissioner. All persons who have served for at least 12 years on the county commission and who are not less than 65 years of age, may elect to become a supernumerary county commissioner by filing a statement under oath with the Secretary of State which states that such person meets the qualifications of such office.
