Section 36-26-2 Definitions. The following terms wherever used in this article shall have the
meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, unless the context plainly indicates
a contrary meaning: (1) APPOINTING AUTHORITY. The officer, board, commission, person or group
of persons having the power to make appointments to offices or positions of trust or employment
in the state service. (2) BOARD. The State Personnel Board. (3) CLASSIFIED SERVICE. All offices
or positions of trust or employment in the state service now or hereafter created except those

Section 16-21-33 Alabama Virtual Library Executive Council. (a) There is created the Alabama
Virtual Library Executive Council whose purpose shall be to manage and govern the AVL. The
council shall be the collective decision making body for the AVL. The council, representing

Section 11-40-10.2 Rehiring of certain law enforcement officers retired from state or local
law enforcement agency. (a) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a Class
5, Class 6, Class 7, or Class 8 municipality may rehire a retired law enforcement officer
to perform duties as needed if the mayor, or town or city council, as appropriate, declares
all of the following: (1) There is a critical personnel shortage such that the rehiring is
necessary to provide public safety services. (2) The retired law enforcement officer retired

to the same pension system as the reemploying authority, and has been retired for at least

Section 13A-11-59 Possession of firearms by persons participating in, attending, etc., demonstrations
at public places. (a) For the purposes of this section, the following words and phrases shall

Section 16-25-8 School lunchroom managers and assistants. (a) All school lunchroom managers
and all assistants to such managers who are employed by any county or city board of education
in the operation or management of a lunchroom in any public school in Alabama, regardless
of the source from which and the manner in which their salaries are paid, may become members
of the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama; provided, that such persons elect within six
months after October 1, 1969, to accept the benefits of this chapter. Such persons may signify
their desire to become members of the Teachers' Retirement System by filing written notice

Section 16-6B-4 Financial accountability. Following the analysis of the financial integrity
of each local board of education as provided in subsection (a) or (b) of Section 16-13A-2,
if a local board of education is determined to have submitted fiscally unsound financial reports,
the State Department of Education shall provide assistance and advice. If during the assistance
the State Superintendent of Education determines that the local board of education is in an
unsound fiscal position, a person or persons shall be appointed by the State Superintendent

Section 33-15-3 Procedure for incorporation. To become a corporation, the persons who are designated
to become members of the initial board of directors of the authority, as provided in Section
33-15-4, shall present to the Judge of Probate of Franklin County a certificate of incorporation
signed by them which shall contain: (1) The name and official residence of each of the said

Section 36-15-5.2 Chief Deputy Attorney General. (a) The office of Chief Deputy Attorney General
is hereby created and shall be established. The Chief Deputy Attorney General shall be appointed
