Section 45-49-260 Qualifications and requirements for members of boards, commissions, etc.
(a) Any law to the contrary notwithstanding, any person, regardless of profession, may be
duly appointed to and serve on any Mobile County board, commission, or other public entity
dealing with the planning, zoning, or subdivision of real estate in Mobile County, and on
any municipal board, commission, or other public entity dealing with the planning, zoning,
or subdivision of real estate within a municipality located in Mobile County. (b) No member

Section 45-49-40.02 County board of barber commissioners. (a) There is created a Barbers' Commission
for the County of Mobile. The Governor shall appoint three persons, each of whom, immediately
prior to the date of his or her appointment, has been a resident of the county for the past
three years, and who has had at least five years' experience as a barber; one member to be
appointed for a term of one year, one member to be appointed for a term of two years, and

Section 16-1-26 Compensation of school board members. (a) Members of city and county school
boards are authorized to receive reasonable compensation for their services, not to exceed
six hundred dollars ($600) per month, unless set at a higher figure by a local act, upon approval

agreements. When any part of the territory embracing a school under the supervision and control
of the county board of education is annexed to a city having a city board of education by
extension of the corporate limits of such city, the county board of education shall retain

Battleground School Historical Board is established to own, operate, manage, and preserve
the former Battleground School property in the unincorporated community of Battleground, including
