Section 45-48-70.03 Associate commissioners. The associate members of the Commission on Government and Finance of Marshall County shall serve as associate commissioners of the Marshall County Commission and shall hold office until the first Monday after the second Tuesday in January, 1979, and until their successors are elected and qualified. The associate commissioners shall each receive as compensation for their services the sum of six thousand dollars ($6,000) per year and an additional two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400) per year for expenses, payable out of the Treasury of Marshall County. Section 45-48-70.56 Purchasing and contract limitations; liability; emergency situations; penalties. (a) It shall be unlawful for the commission or any member thereof to purchase or vote to purchase any property or enter into a contract for any work at a purchase price or contract price greater than two thousand dollars ($2,000) with the costs thereof to become due or to be paid after the expiration of the term of the office of the commissioners serving at the time the purchase is made, vote taken, or contract entered into.
