Section 45-12-130 Qualifications; duties. The county commission shall employ a county engineer,
who shall be a qualified and competent civil engineer, possessing all of the qualities as
specified for county engineers pursuant to law. The county engineer shall devote his or her
time and attention to the maintenance and construction of the public roads, highways, and
bridges of the county, the county shop, and all work otherwise authorized by law. The county
engineer shall perform all of the following duties: (1) Employ, supervise, and direct all
assistants necessary to properly maintain and construct the public roads, highways, bridges,
and county shop of the county and all work otherwise authorized by law. (2) Perform engineering
and surveying services as required, and prepare and maintain all necessary maps and records.

Section 45-34-84 Salary; disposition of fees, commission, etc; personnel, equipment, etc. (a)
The Judge of Probate of Henry County shall be entitled to receive compensation in the form
of an annual salary which shall be equal to sixteen thousand dollars ($16,000) per annum less
than the total salary compensation paid by the state to the presiding circuit judge in the

Section 45-44-150.01 Qualifications of members. (a) Each racing commissioner shall take the
same constitutional oath of office as any other county officer, and shall give bond payable
to Macon County in the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) conditioned that such

of probate each are hereby authorized to appoint not less than one clerk and any additional

Section 17-3-60 Clerical assistance for judge of probate and board of registrars. The judge
of probate may employ such assistants and clerical help as may be necessary to complete and
properly prepare reports from the state voter registration list of the list of qualified electors
which the judge of probate is required to furnish a certified copy to the election inspectors.
