Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Promote uniformity or compatibility in significant components of tax systems. 3. Facilitate taxpayer convenience and compliance in the filing of tax returns and in other phases of tax administration. 4. Avoid duplicative taxation. Article II. Definitions. Section 9-2-3 Powers and duties as to state parks and parkways, etc. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, for the purpose of establishing, developing and maintaining state parks and parkways, may acquire land by donation, purchase, condemnation or lease and for these purposes may use such funds as may be available to it and not otherwise obligated and may enter into agreements with the federal government or other agencies for acquiring by lease, purchase or otherwise such lands as in its judgment are desirable for state parks or parkways. Section 22-35-3 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise indicated, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) ABOVEGROUND STORAGE TANK. (a) Any permit issued pursuant to this article to conduct surface mining operations shall require that such surface coal mining operations will meet all applicable performance standards of this article, and such other requirements as the regulatory authority shall promulgate. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR.
