Section 45-26-230.20 Salary and expense allowance. (a)(1) Deputies of the Sheriff's
Department of Elmore County shall be compensated on the basis of years of continuous service
according to the following table: Years of Continuous Service Monthly Salary Monthly Expense
Allowance 0-3 $890 $50 3-5 $940 $50 5-7 $990 $50 7-10 $1,040 $50 10 or more $1,090 $50 (2)
The chief deputy shall receive an additional one hundred dollars ($100) per month, and fifty
dollars ($50) per month expense allowance. (3) The assistant chief deputy shall receive an
additional fifty dollars ($50) per month and fifty dollars ($50) per month expense allowance.
(b) The salaries and expense allowances herein provided shall be the minimum compensation
payable to such individuals, in lieu of any salary, expense allowance, or other compensation

Section 45-30-50 Qualifications; expenses. (a) This section shall apply only
to Franklin County. (b) Each constable, elected or appointed after August 1, 2001, shall have
attended and completed a course of study at a police academy or similar institution and shall

Section 45-49-43.07 Records of purchases; transcripts. Each applicant who secures a
license under this part for purchasing gold or silver in any form set out in Section
45-49-43 shall keep a book in which shall be entered promptly at the time of purchase a brief
description of the articles or property purchased, the date and hour of the purchase, and
a brief description of the person from whom the purchase is made, together with the address,

Section 45-49-50 Qualifications, Constable Regulatory Board of Mobile; suspensions.
(a) In Mobile County, no person shall hold the office of constable unless the person has successfully
completed the minimum standards and training for peace officers pursuant to Section
36-21-46. (b) All constables shall be required to obtain a minimum of 20 hours of training
per year, in addition to those requirements for constables set forth in subsection (a). (c)
Constables not acquiring the required amount of training hours may not perform the duties

Section 45-37-150.02 Bingo games - Permit required. (a) Any provisions of the law to
the contrary notwithstanding, no qualified organization shall be permitted to operate a bingo
game until the sheriff issues a permit to the organization authorizing it to do so. In the
event of any controversy concerning whether or not certain activity constitutes bingo for
which a permit may be issued, the decision of the sheriff shall control. The permit described
in this law is in addition to and not in lieu of any other permits or licenses which may be

(a) As used in this section, a local animal control law means a municipal ordinance
or local law governing the treatment, care, well-being, or safety of animals. (b) A Class
5 and Class 8 municipality, by ordinance, may: (1) Establish civil penalties for violations
of local animal control laws in an amount not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) for
