Section 32-6-18 Penalties - Violations in general; disposition of funds. (a) Any person of whom a driver's license is required, who drives a motor vehicle on a public highway in this state without first having complied with this article or the rules and regulations promulgated hereunder shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), to be fixed in the discretion of the judge trying the case. (a) After a municipal code lien has been recorded with the office of the probate judge of the county in which the real property lies, the Class 2 municipality may identify those properties on which to commence a judicial in rem foreclosure in accordance with this article, except that those properties the Class 2 municipality identifies as owner occupied shall not be subject to judicial in rem foreclosure under this article. (a) Any violation of this subpart shall constitute a public nuisance subject to a civil fine of fifty dollars ($50) per day not to exceed three thousand dollars ($3,000) to be assessed by the county commission.
