Section 45-42A-20 Sale of draft or keg beer or malt beverages. (a) This section shall only
apply to the City of Athens in Limestone County. (b) The sale of draft or keg beer or malt
beverages by retail licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is authorized in the
City of Athens. All resolutions and ordinances relating to the sale, consumption, and possession
of bottled or canned beer in such cities shall apply to draft or keg beer or malt beverages.
The Athens City Council may adopt an ordinance regulating the sale of draft or keg beer or
malt beverages pursuant to this section. (c) All laws or parts of laws which conflict with
this section are repealed. However, the provisions of this section are cumulative and supplementary
and shall not be construed to repeal or supersede any laws or parts of laws not directly inconsistent

Section 28-3-1 Definitions. As used in this title, the following words shall have the following
meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Any alcoholic,
spirituous, vinous, fermented, or other alcoholic beverage, or combination of liquors and
mixed liquor, a part of which is spirituous, vinous, fermented, or otherwise alcoholic, and
all drinks or drinkable liquids, preparations or mixtures intended for beverage purposes,

Section 45-43-20 Regulation of sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday. (a)(1) The sale or dispensing
of alcoholic beverages in Lowndes County for off-premises consumption on Sunday is permissible.
The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board may issue a license to licensed clubs and other
retail alcoholic beverage licensees within the county or any municipality located therein
to sell or dispense alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption on Sundays, any other
law to the contrary notwithstanding. Licensed clubs and retail licensees granted such a license
may sell or dispense alcoholic beverages pursuant to the requirements of the license and applicable
regulations of the board. (2) If sales of alcoholic beverages are to be allowed on Sundays
within Lowndes County, before such sales shall commence, the County Commission of Lowndes
County, by resolution, shall call for a referendum within Lowndes County to determine if the

Section 45-44-20.01 Regulation of liquor traffic and sales. (a) This section applies only to
Macon County. (b) The Legislature declares that the purpose of this section is to promote
travel and tourism within Macon County, in order to enhance the economic opportunities of
the citizens of Macon County. The Legislature further declares that the purpose of this section
is to regulate the liquor traffic in Macon County. (c) It shall be lawful for any retail licensee

Section 45-45A-33 Passenger excursion trains. The City of Huntsville, Alabama, is hereby authorized
to acquire and operate passenger excursion trains within Madison County, Alabama, upon the
tracks of any public or private railroad company based upon agreements for such operation
between the city and any such public or private railroad corporation or other entity. The
city is authorized to acquire, maintain, and operate such engines, cars, and other equipment
as it deems necessary and useful for the operation of any such passenger excursion train,
