Section 45-45-233.35 Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission. (a) There is hereby created a body to be known as the Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission, hereinafter called the commission. (a) The Madison County Work Release and Pre-Trial Release Commission may establish administrative fees to fund alternative sentencing programs, educational programs, intervention programs, treatment programs, and other programs to serve the courts of the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit, and may collect the fees from any person ordered by the courts to complete an alternative sentencing program, or other program administered by the commission. (a) The circuit and district court judges of the Thirty-sixth Judicial Circuit who are holding office on May 29, 1984, shall have six months from May 29, 1984, to make an election, in writing, with the county commission of the county comprising the circuit to come within this section. (a) Only in the event of a vacancy due to death, retirement, resignation, or removal from office of a district or circuit judge, the Judicial Resources Allocation Commission shall have 30 days to determine whether to reallocate such judgeship to another district or circuit.
