Section 45-45-170 Animal control shelter program. (a) The Madison County Commission
is hereby authorized to establish an animal control shelter program in Madison County and
to provide such program or to enter into contracts with other governmental or private agencies
for the operation and maintenance of the program. (b) If an animal control shelter program
is established, each dog and cat in Madison County shall be licensed annually. The Madison
County Commission is authorized to establish the annual license fee; however, such annual
fee shall not be less than one dollar ($1) nor more than six dollars ($6). Any dog or cat
not having a license shall be taken into custody and retained for 10 days before its disposal,
either by sale or putting to death. The county commission may establish a fee to reclaim an
animal from one dollar ($1) to ten dollars ($10) for spayed dogs or cats and from one dollar

Section 45-45-244.01 Collection; disposition of funds. Any privilege or license fee
levied by the Madison County Commission shall be collected by the Madison County Commission,
and the net proceeds from the privilege or license fee, less a reasonable cost of collection

Section 40-12-2 Issuance; form of license; levy of county tax; actions for recovery
of tax. (a) Before any person, firm, or corporation shall engage in or carry on any business
or do any act for which a license by law is required, he, they, or it, except as otherwise

Section 45-37-244.02 Jefferson County Entity Business License Tax. (a) This section
shall apply only to Jefferson County. (b) As used in this section, the following words
and terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them: (1) BUSINESS ACTIVITY. The carrying on
or practice of any business, vocation, occupation, work, calling, or profession for profit.
(2) BUSINESS ENTITY. A person engaged in one or more business activities, other than an individual.
(3) COUNTY. Jefferson County. (4) GOVERNING BODY. The Jefferson County Commission. (5) INDIVIDUAL.
A natural person other than a sole proprietor. (6) PERSON. Any corporation, partnership, company,

Section 45-45-201.09 License procedures by mail; fees; forms. The Director of the Madison
County License Department shall charge and collect a fee not to exceed two dollars ($2) for
each motor vehicle license tag issued by mail, in addition to all other fees prescribed by
law. The additional fee shall be paid by the owner of the motor vehicle with his or her mailed
request for license tags, and the fees collected by the director of the department shall be

Section 45-45-234 Pistol Permit. (a)(1) In Madison County, the fees for the issuance
of a license by the sheriff pursuant to Section 13A-11-75, to authorize a person to
carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about his or her person, at the request of
the licensee, shall be as provided below: a. For a regular paper license, the fee shall be
ten dollars ($10). b. For an enhanced security license issued in hard plastic and not capable

Section 45-3-200 Citation issuance fee. The Barbour County Commission is hereby authorized
and empowered to impose, by resolution duly adopted and spread upon its minutes, a citation
issuance fee in an amount not to exceed fifteen dollars ($15) per each citation issued by
the county license inspector citing a delinquent mobile home license tag as provided by law.

Section 45-26-71.01 Levy of motor vehicle and watercraft license issuance fees. (a)
This section shall apply only to Elmore County. (b) The County Commission of Elmore
County may, in addition to all other charges, costs, taxes, or fees levied on the issuance
of all motor vehicle license plates of any nature, levy a fee of up to ten dollars ($10) per
license plate. The county commission may also levy a user fee of up to five dollars ($5) on
each license decal issued for all watercraft of not more than 16 feet in length and a user
fee of up to ten dollars ($10) for any watercraft more than 16 feet in length. The vehicle
