Section 41-9-806 Powers of commission. (b) The Baldwin County Commission, through the county planning and zoning commission, shall regulate the construction setback from the centerline of any state or county public road or highway located outside the corporate limits of a municipality in Baldwin County. The primary purpose and use of funds generated by this article is to enable all volunteer fire departments in Houston County to lower their ISO ratings, thus lowering insurance costs to the citizens of the county. All departments are required to attain and maintain an ISO of 7/9 (seven slash nine) or below within four years of November 7, 2000, per Section 45-35-140.09.
