Section 45-49A-20.02 Hearings on unsafe structures; orders; appeals. Within the time specified in such notice, but not more than 60 days from the date such notice is given, any person, firm, or corporation having an interest in such building or structure may file a written request for a hearing before the city governing body, together with his or her objections to the finding by the appropriate city official that such building or structure is unsafe to the extent of becoming a public nuisance. The filing of such request shall hold in abeyance any action on the finding of such city official until determination thereon is made by such governing body. (a) An Administrative Hearing Officer appointed by the Mayor of the city is vested with the power and jurisdiction to conduct administrative hearings of civil violations provided for in this part.
