Section 45-30-234 Work release program. (a) This section shall apply to Franklin County. (b)(1) BOARD. The Franklin County Work Release Board, which shall be composed of the following members: The judge of probate of the county, the sheriff of the county, and the chief deputy of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. (2) INMATE. Any person, male or female, convicted of a crime and sentenced to the county jail. (c) The employer of an inmate involved in work release shall pay the inmate's wages directly to the board. The board may adopt regulations concerning the disbursement of any earnings of the inmates involved in the work release program. The board shall be authorized to withhold from the inmate's earnings 25 percent of his or her gross earnings to pay such cost incident to the inmate's confinement as the board shall deem appropriate. Section 45-10-231.24 Cherokee County Work Release Fund. (a) The board may establish the Cherokee County Work Release Fund at a bank selected by the board located in Cherokee County. The employer of an inmate involved in work release shall pay the wages of the inmate directly to the board. All wages received by the board under this subpart shall be deposited by the board into the fund. Section 45-45-83.46 Fees. (a) An applicant may be assessed a fee when the applicant is approved for the program. The amount of the assessment for participation in the program shall be in addition to any court costs, assessments for victims, or drug, alcohol, or anger management treatment required by law, the district attorney, or the court and shall be in addition to costs of supervision, treatment, and restitution for which the pretrial admittee may be responsible. Pretrial intervention program fees, as established by this section, may be waived or reduced due to indigency or reduced ability to pay or for just cause at the discretion of the district attorney. (a) Any person who submits to the Department of Veterans Affairs an application which includes satisfactory proof that he or she meets the military service and award requirements to be issued a license plate authorized by Section 32-6-250, shall be issued a removable windshield placard displaying the appropriate military honor or veteran status.
