of county purchasing agent. The county engineer shall make written requisition to a county
purchasing agent for all materials, machinery, equipment, and necessary supplies needed for
the construction, maintenance, or repair of the public roads, bridges, and ferries of Macon
County. The requisitions shall be filed and presented by the chair to the commission at its
next meeting, for the approval of the commission. The county purchasing agent may make purchases

Section 45-44-170.05 Enforcement; fines. (a) The operation of an unlicensed junkyard that is
required to be licensed pursuant to this section constitutes a public nuisance. (b) The Macon
County Commission shall adopt regulations and requirements for issuing licenses for the operation
of junkyards within the limits defined in this article and may revoke the licenses at any
time the junkyard fails to conform to the requirements of this article, and shall charge a
license fee of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) and not less than one hundred dollars
($100) payable each fiscal year. All licenses issued under this article shall expire on September
30th following the date of issuance. Licenses shall be renewed from year to year upon payment

Section 45-44-246.01 Additional tax. (a)(1) The Macon County Commission may impose on every
person, firm, or corporation that sells, stores, delivers, uses, or otherwise consumes tobacco
or tobacco products in Macon County, a county privilege, license, or excise tax in the following

Section 45-49-170.72 Hearing; appeal. (a) Within the time specified in the notice, any person,
firm, or corporation having an interest in the building or structure may file a written request
for a hearing before the county commission, together with any objections to the finding by
the appropriate county official that the building or structure constitutes a public nuisance.
The filing of such a request shall hold in abeyance any action on the finding of the county
official until a determination is made by the county commission. A hearing shall be held not
