Section 36-22-17 Disposition of fees, commissions, etc. Except as otherwise provided herein,
all fees, commissions, percentages, allowances, charges, and court costs heretofore collectible
for the use of the sheriff and his or her deputies shall be collected and paid into the general
fund of the county. Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of Section 14-6-47, all
monies paid by the state for the feeding of prisoners pursuant to Title 14, Chapter 6 shall
be paid into the Prisoner Feeding Fund established in Section 14-6-47, and expended only as

Section 36-22-61 Payroll deductions; refunds; widow's allowance; effect of other retirement
plans. The governing body of each county shall begin deducting, upon July 19, 1979, and each
month thereafter, from the salaries of such sheriffs an amount equal to six percent of the

Section 45-10-111.01 Compensation for returning officers; mileage allowance. (a) This section
shall apply only to Cherokee County. (b) All returning officers, as appointed by the local
appointing board, the judge of probate, sheriff, and circuit clerk, shall receive an additional
compensation of ten dollars ($10) and shall receive the same mileage allowance for travel
as the state mileage allowance provided for in Section 36-7-22, from the location of the polling
