(a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees. (a) The circuit and district court judges of the Thirty-sixth Judicial Circuit who are holding office on May 29, 1984, shall have six months from May 29, 1984, to make an election, in writing, with the county commission of the county comprising the circuit to come within this section.
