Section 45-8A-20.01 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) "Applicant" means a natural person who files a written application with the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03. (2) "Authority" means the Anniston Downtown Development Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this part. (3) "Authorizing resolution" means a resolution adopted by the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03, that authorizes the corporation of the authority. (4) "Board" means the board of directors of the authority. (5) "Bonds" means and shall include bonds, notes, and certificates representing an obligation to pay money. Section 11-44B-25 Procedures to reduce or delete areas from police jurisdiction. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, any Class 4 municipality that is organized pursuant to this article may from time to time reduce or delete various portions and areas from the territorial limits of its respective police jurisdiction or its planning jurisdiction or both as established by law, including, but not limited to, Sections 11-40-10 and 11-52-30, Act 76-594 and as amended by Act 94-539, the reduction and deletion shall be pursuant to the following procedure: (1) INITIATION. If the planned expansion of a municipal police jurisdiction includes any portion of the Turnerville fire protection district, the owners of property located and contained within the affected area may approve the expansion by petition.
