Section 45-36-60 Compensation and mileage allowance schedule; deputy coroners. (a) A new compensation and mileage allowance schedule for the Coroner and Chief Deputy Coroner of Jackson County, Alabama, shall be determined by the county commission and shall be payable in the manner prescribed by the county commission from the county general fund. Such compensation and allowance schedule shall be established by resolution duly adopted and spread upon the minutes of the county commission and shall be in lieu of any county compensation and mileage allowances heretofore provided by law for such coroner and deputy coroner. Such new compensation and mileage schedule shall become effective at the beginning of the next term of office for such coroner and deputy coroner. Section 45-42-200.01 Seal; oath; bond. The county license commissioner shall have an official seal of office and shall maintain a permanent office in the county. Before commencing the duties of his or her office, the county license commissioner shall take the oath prescribed by Constitution of Alabama of 1901, and shall execute bond in such penal sum as prescribed by the county governing body, giving as surety thereon a bond issued by a bonding company authorized to do business in this state. Section 45-45-170 Animal control shelter program. (a) The Madison County Commission is hereby authorized to establish an animal control shelter program in Madison County and to provide such program or to enter into contracts with other governmental or private agencies for the operation and maintenance of the program.
