Section 9-11-235 Taking, etc., of protected birds or animals during nighttime hours. (a) It shall be unlawful, except as otherwise provided by law or rule of the commissioner, for a person to take, capture, or kill, or attempt to take, capture, or kill any bird or animal protected by the laws of this state during nighttime hours. (b) Any person violating this section shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished for the first offense by a fine of not less than two thousand dollars ($2,000) nor more than three thousand dollars ($3,000) and may be imprisoned in the county jail for a period not to exceed six months. In addition, the court shall revoke all hunting license privileges for a period of three years from the date of conviction. Section 9-11-55.1 Nonresident freshwater fishing licenses - Use of certain trotlines prohibited; inspection of permissible trotlines required; penalties. Section 11-5-32 Conflicts of interest. (a) A coroner who owns, operates, is employed by, or otherwise has an interest in a funeral establishment is deemed to have a conflict of interest and shall not direct business to the establishment when performing his or her duties under the laws of this state. (b) Nothing in this section shall prevent a person from taking the body of the deceased to a funeral establishment in which the coroner has an interest if the person decides to do so without the suggestion of the coroner. After January 1, 2007, any person who undertakes or attempts to undertake the practice of court reporting for remuneration without first having procured a license, or who knowingly presents or files false information with the board for the purpose of obtaining a license or who violates this chapter shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor.
