Section 45-42-101 Appointment of Superintendent. The Limestone County Board of Education shall
appoint the county superintendent of education for a contract period as determined by the
board. This section as amended shall not limit or alter any existing contract, but shall become
operative at the earlier of a vacancy in the office or the expiration of the current contract.
At the expiration of any contract period, the appointment of the superintendent of education

and apportionments of public school money now provided by law and made available for public
schools there shall be apportioned and paid to local boards of education from the Foundation
