Section 6-12-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION. Increased in accordance with the formula for inflation adjustment set forth in Exhibit C to the Master Settlement Agreement. (2) AFFILIATE. A person who directly or indirectly owns or controls, is owned or controlled by, or is under common ownership or control with, another person. Solely for purposes of this definition, the terms "owns," "is owned," and "ownership" mean ownership of an equity interest, or the equivalent thereof, of ten percent or more, and the term "person" means an individual, partnership, committee, association, corporation, or any other organization or group of persons. Section 45-4-244.20 County sales tax to parallel state tax; exemptions; collection and disposition of funds; enforcement. Section 40-12-172 Transient dealers. Each person doing business as a transient dealer as defined in this section and who does not pay the privilege license under Section 40-12-73 or the license permit under Section 40-25-19 shall pay an annual license tax to the state of $30. The payment of one state license shall authorize such transient dealer to engage in such business in any county in the state upon the payment of a county license of $5 in each such county. Section 40-12-4 County license tax for school purposes - Authority to levy. (a) In order to provide funds for public school purposes, the governing body of each of the several counties in this state is hereby authorized by ordinance to levy and provide for the assessment and collection of franchise, excise and privilege license taxes with respect to privileges or receipts from privileges exercised in such county, which shall be in addition to any and all other county taxes heretofore or hereafter authorized by law in such county.
