Section 45-41-170 Legislative findings. The regulation of the accumulation and storage of junk and other litter, including, but not limited to, discarded tires, within the unincorporated territory of Lee County is hereby declared to be in the public interest and necessary to promote the public safety, health, welfare, convenience, and enjoyment of public travel; to protect the public investment in public highways; and to preserve and enhance the scenic beauty of lands and the environment. Section 13A-7-29 Criminal littering. (a) A person commits the crime of criminal littering if he or she engages in any of the following acts: (1) Knowingly deposits in any manner litter on any public or private property or in any public or private waters without permission to do so.
