Section 45-7-232 Operation of jail store; Law Enforcement Fund. (a) The Sheriff of Butler
County or the authorized agents of the sheriff may operate a jail store for prisoners within
the confines of the county jail. The jail store shall be operated to serve the needs of the
jail population. (b)(1) The sheriff shall establish and maintain a Law Enforcement Fund in
a bank located in Butler County. All proceeds collected under this section shall be
deposited by the sheriff into the Law Enforcement Fund. (2) The sheriff shall keep an account
of all jail store sales and transactions of the Law Enforcement Fund for annual audit by the
Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. The jail store account and Law Enforcement Fund
shall be audited at the same time other accounts of the sheriff are audited. The Department
of Examiners of Public Accounts shall submit a copy of the audit to the sheriff within 30

Section 15-5-50 Warrant for tracking device installation; requirements; procedures.
(a) Any circuit or district court judge in this state is authorized to issue a warrant to
install a tracking device. The term tracking device means an electronic or mechanical device
which permits the tracking of the movement of a person or object. (b) Upon the written application,
under oath, of any law enforcement officer as defined in Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure
1.4, district attorney, or Attorney General of the state, including assistant and deputy district
attorneys and assistant and deputy attorneys general, any authorized judge may issue a warrant
for the installation, retrieval, maintenance, repair, use, or monitoring of a tracking device.

Section 27-2-26 Witnesses and evidence for examination, investigation or hearing - Generally.
(a) As to the subject of any examination, investigation, or hearing being conducted by him,
the commissioner may subpoena witnesses and administer oaths or affirmations and examine any
individual under oath or take depositions and, by subpoena duces tecum, may require and compel
the production of records, books, files, documents, and other evidence. (b) Witness fees and
mileage, if claimed, shall be allowed the same as for testimony in a circuit court. Witness
fees, mileage, and the actual expense necessarily incurred in securing attendance of witnesses
and their testimony shall be itemized and shall be paid by the person being examined if in
