Section 45-46-241.05 Performance of duties, salary. The county revenue commissioner shall collect and pay into the general fund of the county all fees, percentages, commissions, and other allowances which the tax assessor and the tax collector are now or hereafter by law authorized or directed to charge or collect for the performance of any duty imposed by law on any such officers and hereby transferred to and imposed on the county revenue commissioner. As compensation for performance of the duties of his or her office, the revenue commissioner shall receive a salary of not less than thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) and not more than forty-eight thousand dollars ($48,000), payable in 12 equal monthly installments, with the exact amount to be set by resolution of the Marengo County Commission prior to the revenue commissioner taking office. (a) It has come to the attention of the Legislature that the present compensation of the circuit judges and District Attorney for the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit is somewhat below the average of that being paid to circuit judges and district attorneys in other judicial circuits in this state which have considerably lighter caseloads than the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit.
