Section 45-48-60 Expense allowance. (a) The Coroner of Marshall County shall be entitled to
receive an expense allowance in the amount of one thousand three hundred fifty dollars ($1,350)
per month to be paid from the county general fund. (b) The expense allowance shall be in addition
to any salary now being paid to the coroner, but shall be in lieu of any other expense allowances
heretofore provided by law for the coroner. (c) All payments made by the Marshall County Commission
to the Marshall County Coroner since February 11, 2013, are hereby ratified and approved.
(d) For the purposes of determining future salary adjustments, the position of county coroner

Section 45-5-60.02 Additional expense allowance; health care benefits; cost-of-living increases.
(a) Commencing on May 16, 2008, the Coroner of Blount County shall be entitled to an additional
expense allowance in an amount equal to the employer portion of all health care benefits provided
to any other elected official of Blount County to be paid in equal monthly installments out

(1) To direct, control, and maintain the property of the county as it may deem expedient according
to law, and in this direction and control it has the sole power to locate the courts in the
