Section 4-3-5 Board of directors of authority. Each authority shall be governed by a board
of directors of three or more members, selected as provided herein. If the sole authorizing
subdivision is a county, the governing body of said county shall elect all members, the number
of such members to be set out in the certificate of incorporation of said authority. In all
other cases, one member shall be elected by the governing body of each authorizing subdivision,
one member shall be elected by the governing body of the county in which is located the principal
office of the authority specified in the certificate of incorporation, if such county is not
an authorizing subdivision, and one additional member shall be agreed to and elected by the

Section 45-37-243.13 Violations. Any person violating this subpart or rules or regulations
of the board of revenue, county commission, or like governing body of such counties, adopted
hereunder shall on the first conviction be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100);
and on the second conviction shall be fined not less than two hundred dollars ($200); and
on the third or any subsequent conviction the fine shall not be less than five hundred dollars
($500) and as additional punishment the court may impose a hard labor sentence not to exceed
six months. Upon any such conviction it shall be the duty of the license inspector, judge

Section 45-48-85.27 Procedures governing noncollectible negotiable instruments. (a) In Marshall
County, when a negotiable instrument, such as a check or draft, given for a motor vehicle
license is found to be noncollectible for any reason, the judge of probate, or his or her
designee, shall notify the maker or drawer of the negotiable instrument, in writing, that
payment of the negotiable instrument was refused by the drawee and that if the maker or drawer
does not pay the holder thereof the amount due thereon, within 10 days of the mailing of the
notice to the maker or drawer, then the motor vehicle license shall be subject to being retrieved

review of the violation by law enforcement, any county or municipal governing body or law
enforcement office located in Mobile County operating an electronic device shall send the
owner of a vehicle, that has been detected by the device as being involved in a school bus

Section 45-8-200.01 Commissioner of licenses - Appointment; salary. There is hereby created
the office of commissioner of licenses who shall be appointed by the chairman or president
of the county governing body, the tax assessor, and the judge of probate, or a majority of
them, who shall constitute a board of appointment for such purpose. Such officer shall hold

Section 17-8-5 Political parties furnish lists from which appointments are made. Each political
party or organization having made nominations, by the chair of its state or county executive
committee or nominees for office, may furnish the appointing board a list of names of recommended
poll workers from qualified electors for each voting place not later than 45 days before the
