Section 41-10-63 Authority and procedure for pledge of revenues of authority and creation of statutory lien upon facilities and properties thereof for payment of principal and interest on bonds; remedies upon default in payment of principal or interest on bonds. (a) In the proceedings authorizing the issuance of any of its bonds, the authority is hereby authorized and empowered to pledge for the payment of the principal of and interest on such bonds, as the said principal and interest shall respectively mature, and to agree to use solely for such purpose all the revenues which under the provisions of Section 41-10-65 are provided for the payment of the said principal and interest. All such pledges made by the authority shall take precedence in the order of the resolutions containing such pledge. (a) The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board may grant to any civic center authority, to which the board may have theretofore issued or may simultaneously therewith issue a civic center liquor license under Section 45-37-20, a revocable temporary permit entitling such civic center authority to sell or dispense in any part of its civic center for consumption therein draft or keg beer or malt beverages. Section 45-37-243.40 Levy of tax; payment; violations. (a) This section shall only apply to Jefferson County. (b) As used in this section, state sales tax means the tax imposed by the state sales and use tax statutes, including, but not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-3, and 40-23-4. (c)(1) Notwithstanding any provision of law and pursuant to Section 104 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, there is imposed, in addition to all other taxes, including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts license taxes, a three percent sales tax on alcoholic beverages sold from restaurants that are licensed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Section 45-37-245.02 Levy of tax for support and operation of Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Authority. (a) In addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied an additional privilege or license tax in the amount hereinafter prescribed against any person, organization, or other entity engaging in the county in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodgings, or accommodations, in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist court, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished for a consideration.
