Section 45-49-40.06 Application of non-resident barbers or apprentices. (a) Any person who is at least 18 years of age and of good moral character and temperate habits, who has a license as a practicing barber from another state or county having substantially the same requirements for licensing barbers as are required by this part, or who can prove by sworn affidavits that he or she has practiced as a barber in another state for at least five years within the 10 years next immediately preceding the making of the application in such county, upon the payment of the required fee, shall be granted permission to take an examination to determine his or her fitness to receive a license to practice as a barber. Should he or she fail to pass the examination, he or she within three months, may file a new application, accompanied by the required fee, and take another examination. (a) Each county board of registrars shall purge the computerized statewide voter registration list on a continuous basis, whenever it receives and confirms information that a person registered to vote in that county has died, become a nonresident of the state or county, been declared mentally incompetent, been convicted of any offense designated pursuant to Section 17-3-30.1 as a felony involving moral turpitude for the purposes of Article VIII of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901 since being registered, or otherwise become disqualified as an elector.
