Section 45-31-60 Compensation. (a) This section shall apply only in Geneva County. (b)(1) Commencing on June 1, 2009, the Coroner of Geneva County shall receive an annual salary of nine thousand six hundred dollars ($9,600) payable in equal monthly installments from the county treasury. The salary provided in this subsection shall be in lieu of any salary and expense allowance previously provided by law. (2) After June 1, 2009, the coroner shall receive uniform increases in compensation in the same manner as provided in Section 11-2A-4. Longevity increases of the coroner shall be based on the average of longevity increases of all county employees as shown on county pay scales, as determined by the county commission. Longevity increases for the coroner shall be based on the coroner's most recent period of time of continuous, uninterrupted service as a coroner.
