Section 41-18-1 Text. Article I. Findings and Purposes. (a) The party states find that the South has a sense of community based on common social, cultural and economic needs and fostered by a regional tradition. There are vast potentialities for mutual improvement of each state in the region by cooperative planning for the development, conservation and efficient utilization of human and natural resources in a geographic area large enough to afford a high degree of flexibility in identifying and taking maximum advantage of opportunities for healthy and beneficial growth. The independence of each state and the special needs of subregions are recognized and are to be safeguarded. Section 38-13-2 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) ADULT. An individual 19 years of age and older. (2) ADULT CARE FACILITY. A person or entity holding a Department of Human Resources license or approval or certification to provide care, including foster care, for adults. (3) APPLICANT. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association, limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State Licensing Board for General Contractors. Section 8-21A-4 Termination, cancellation, or nonrenewal of dealer agreement; sales contract, etc.; new or relocated dealership; sale or lease of new equipment. (a) Except as provided in subsection (d), notwithstanding any dealer agreement, sales contract, franchise agreement, or other agreement by and between dealer and supplier except where grounds for termination or nonrenewal of a dealer's agreement or a change in his or her competitive position are contained in subdivisions (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), or (6) of subsection (b), a supplier shall give a dealer at least 90 days' written notice of the supplier's intent to terminate, cancel, or not renew a dealer agreement or change the dealer's competitive circumstances.
