Section 45-37-243.02 Levy of tax. (a) As used in this section, the following terms have the meanings here given them: (1) COUNTY. Any county now or hereafter subject to this subpart. (2) COUNTY GOVERNING BODY. The county board of revenue, the county commission, or other like body of the county. (3) DIRECTOR OF COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE. The director of the county department of revenue, the license commissioner, or judge of probate of the county, or any other public officer performing like duties in the county. (a)(1) An individual taxpayer who files a state income tax return and is not claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer, a taxpayer subject to the corporate income tax levied by Chapter 18 of Title 40, an Alabama S corporation as defined in Section 40-18-160, or a Subchapter K entity as defined in Section 40-18-1 may claim a credit for a contribution made to a scholarship granting organization. Section 34-27-69 Surety bond; suspension, etc., of license for violation of article; reinstatement; relicensure; board must be notified of initiation, etc., of legal action.
