Section 36-26-5 State Personnel Board - Composition; appointment, qualifications, terms of office, removal and compensation of members; procedure for electing classified employee member. (a) The State Personnel Board shall consist of five persons, as follows: (1) Two persons appointed by the Governor, one of them whose term shall expire on February 1, 1985, and one of them whose term shall expire on February 1, 1986, one person appointed by the Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, whose term shall expire February 1, 1987, one person appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of the State of Alabama, whose term shall expire February 1, 1988, and one person who shall be a classified employee elected as hereinafter provided, whose term shall expire February 1, 1989. Section 11-43D-21 Temporary absence or disability of mayor; filling vacancies. (a) In the case of absences of the mayor from the city or his inability to serve on account of sickness or any other good reason, the president of the council or president pro tem of the council, in case of absence or disability of the president of the council, shall act as mayor pro tempore with the power and authority of the mayor during such time.
