Section 11-50-462 Members of board - Election and terms of office; vacancies. The governing body of such municipality shall elect the members of the board. Immediately upon the creation and establishment of the board, the governing body of such municipality shall proceed to elect one member to serve until July 1 of the next ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified, one member to serve until July 1 of the second ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified and one member to serve until July 1 of the third ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified.
