Section 16-25-100 Cost-of-living increase in pension benefits to members and beneficiaries
of Teachers' Retirement System. Commencing October 1, 1994, there is provided to each person
currently receiving benefits whose effective date of retirement was prior to October 1, 1994,
for purposes of receiving benefits from the Teachers' Retirement System, and to certain beneficiaries
of deceased members and deceased retirees currently receiving survivor benefits, if the effective
date of retirement or death for the deceased retirees or deceased member was prior to October
1, 1994, for purposes of receiving benefits from the Teachers' Retirement System, a cost-of-living

Section 16-25-11.10 Purchase of credit for prior service rendered to employer who may join
system pursuant to Section 16-25-10.7 but has not elected to participate. (a) Active and contributing
members of the Teachers' Retirement System may claim and purchase service credit in the system
not to exceed eight years for any period of prior service while they were full-time employees
of an employer who is authorized to join the system pursuant to Section 16-25-10.7, but has

of the Thirty-sixth Judicial Circuit who are holding office on May 29, 1984, shall have six
