Section 10A-1-1.03 Definitions. As used in this title, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms mean: (1) AFFILIATE. A person who controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with another person. Section 36-25-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Section 45-37A-51.231 Eligibility for service connected death benefit. (a) The survivors of the deceased participant described in Section 45-37A-51.229 shall be eligible to receive a service connected death benefit if they continued to be legally married on the date of the death of the deceased participant. Section 45-37-123.103 Death benefits. (a) Preretirement death benefits. A vested member's beneficiary is entitled to a preretirement joint survivorship pension, as described below.
