Section 45-8A-22.102 Powers and duties of the retirement board.. (a) The retirement board shall
be responsible for the general administration and proper operation of the plan and shall administer
the plan for the exclusive benefit of participants and their beneficiaries, subject to the
terms of the plan. The retirement board shall administer the plan in accordance with its terms
and shall have the power and discretion to construe the terms of the plan and this subpart
and to determine all questions arising in connection with the administration, interpretation,
and application of the plan. Any such determination by the retirement board shall be conclusive

program. (a) The Local Government Health Insurance Board shall govern and administer the Local
Government Health Insurance Program currently governed and administered by the State Employees'
Insurance Board (SEIB) pursuant to Chapter 29 of Title 36. The transfer of the governance

Section 25-4-142 Employment Security Administration Fund; Special Employment Security Administration
Fund; replacement of certain funds. (a) There shall be in the State Treasury a fund to be
known as the Employment Security Administration Fund. All moneys which are deposited or paid
into this fund are hereby appropriated and made available to the secretary for expenditure
in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, and shall not lapse at any time or be transferred
to any other fund. All moneys in this fund, which are received from the federal government
or any agency thereof, or which are appropriated by this state for the administration of this
chapter, except money received pursuant to the provisions of subdivision (6) of Section 25-4-30,

Section 36-21-68 Eligibility for membership; application and fees. Nothing in this article
shall be construed as requiring that any member of the fund become a member of the association
or the order, or that any member of the association or the order become a member of the fund.
Each peace officer who becomes a member shall pay to the fund a regular fee in an amount of

Section 45-37A-51.226 Extraordinary disability allowance. (a) Extraordinary disability allowance
for participants joining the system prior to January 1, 1989. (1) In the event a participant
who joins the system prior to January 1, 1989, shall become totally disabled to perform his
or her customary duties by reason of personal injury received as a result of an accident arising
out of and in the course of his or her employment in the service and occurring at a definite
